Stillman School HSA Executive Board

 

Our HSA is made up of hard-working parents who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. Those listed below volunteered to provide leadership this year. Get to know their names and feel free to ask them if you have questions. Interested in open board positions? Contact us!

 

Co-Presidents | Anita Gunawan, Andy Lu

The Co-Presidents oversee the HSA and represent Stillman School at district-wide HSA-related meetings. The Co-Presidents work with the Executive Board, all committees, the Principal, the faculty, and the Stillman School community to ensure the smooth operation of all HSA events and programs. 

 

In addition to many other duties, the Co-Presidents attend the following meetings:

 

  • Stillman HSA Executive Board meetings as needed;
  • Monthly Meeting with the Principal to set the agenda for the HSA meeting;
  • General HSA meetings every other month;
  • Monthly Meeting with the Co-Presidents of the other district HSAs to discuss issues of interest;
  • Monthly Meeting with HSA Co-Presidents and the Superintendent to discuss issues of interest;
  • Ad-hoc meetings as needed

VP of Membership | Michele Shaim

 

The Vice Presidents oversee duties of Membership. They recruit and instruct class parents. Coordinate and Plan new parent welcome and staff appreciation breakfasts and lunches. They also organize and oversee the Class Parents program, including the collection of the HSA dues. 

 

The VP of Membership attend the following meetings:

  • Stillman HSA Executive Board meetings as needed;
  • General HSA meeting every other month;
  • Committee meetings as scheduled;
  • Ad-hoc meetings as needed

 

VP of Fundraising | Nir Shpigel

 

The VP of Fundraising oversee all Fundraising efforts of the Stillman HSA. They report committee progress to the Executive Board and the HSA at large. The VP of Fundraising review all communication generated by the committees before being sent out to the general public. They also organize and oversee the Class Parents program, including the collection of the HSA dues. 

 

The VP of Fundraising attend the following meetings:

  • Stillman HSA Executive Board meetings as needed;
  • General HSA meeting every other month;
  • Committee meetings as scheduled;
  • Ad-hoc meetings as needed

Corresponding / Communication Secretary | Noah Smalley

 

This Board member is responsible for preparing and distributing the HSA weekly e-mail newsletter.  The content for the newsletter is provided by the Co-Presidents and various HSA committees.  Responsibilities also include preparing, distributing and maintaining the minutes at all General HSA meetings and Executive Board meetings, handling all HSA correspondence, and updating and maintaining all HSA distribution lists. Additional responsibilities include sending out e-mail alerts and attending the following meetings:

  • General HSA meeting every other month
  • Committee meetings as scheduled
  • Ad-hoc meetings as needed

Recording Secretary | Traci Kalfayan

 

This Board member is responsible for preparing and distributing the HSA weekly e-mail newsletter.  The content for the newsletter is provided by the Co-Presidents and various HSA committees.  Responsibilities also include preparing, distributing and maintaining the minutes at all General HSA meetings and Executive Board meetings, handling all HSA correspondence, and updating and maintaining all HSA distribution lists. Additional responsibilities include sending out e-mail alerts and attending the following meetings:

  • Ad-hoc meetings as needed

Co-Treasurers | Erin Lee-Ha, Vicky Cheng, Young Kim

 

The Co-Treasurers are responsible for overseeing the bank accounts and paying HSA bills. Additional responsibilities include working with an outside independent accountant on tracking the budget, monthly reconciliation of bank statements and annual tax filings. 

 

The Co-Treasurers attend the following meetings:

  • Stillman HSA Executive Board meetings as needed;
  • General HSA meetings every other month;
  • Committee meetings as scheduled and needed;
  • Ad-hoc meetings as needed
